The road is open seasonally from early May to the end of October, with the 2026 season commencing on May 1. The journey typically takes about 45 minutes, offering views of blooming alpine meadows, mountain lakes, and rustic huts.
Access requires an admission fee. For cars, a day ticket costs €25.00, while electric or hydrogen vehicles pay €20.00. Season tickets for cars are available for €86.50. Motorcycles incur a day fee of €18.50, with a reduced rate of €17.50 for electric models. Drivers must verify their vehicle classification for discounts and carry registration documents. A specific restriction prohibits motorcycle access between 18:00 and 08:00, with the last entry for motorcycles set at 17:15.
