The Styrian Armoury (Landeszeughaus) in Graz is a major cultural landmark and part of the Universalmuseum Joanneum. Recognized as the world’s largest preserved historical armoury and a recipient of the European Heritage Label, it houses approximately 32,000 objects dating from the 15th to the 18th century. The collection, arranged across four floors, includes medieval armor and weapons, offering visitors a comprehensive look at military history and craftsmanship.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and on public holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is closed on Mondays, with specific exceptions for September 20, December 24, and December 25, 2026. During the winter months (November 1 to December 31), general admission typically requires a guided tour. However, self-guided access is available on Saturdays, Sundays, and specific dates such as December 8 and December 29–31, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Guided tours are available Tuesday through Sunday at 11:00 a.m. (German), 12:30 p.m. (English), and 2:00 p.m. (German).

Admission is free for holders of the Graz Card or Graz Card Light. For other visitors, ticket prices and booking details are available on the museum’s website. The Armoury provides a structured experience, allowing travelers to explore the historical significance of the Habsburg military through its extensive and well-preserved collection.
