The Landesmuseum Kärnten in St. Veit an der Glan offers visitors a comprehensive look at the cultural and natural history of the Carinthia region. During the standard season, it is open Wednesday through Sunday from 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00. In the summer peak period from July 1 to August 31, the museum extends its hours, opening daily from 09:00 to 17:00 without a break. It remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, unless a public holiday falls on these days.
Admission fees are structured to accommodate various visitor groups. Adult tickets cost €9.00, while children aged 6–14 pay €4.50. A family ticket for two adults and two paying children is available for €18.00. Reduced rates of €7.00 apply to students, seniors, people with disabilities, and holders of specific cards such as the Wörthersee Plus, Kärntner Familienkarte, and ÖAMTC. Entry is free for children under 6, as well as for holders of the Kärnten Card and Kulturpass. Guided tours are free for groups of six or more with prior registration.
The museum also serves as a sales point for the Kärnten Card, which provides access to various attractions in the region. Prices for the Kärnten Card (April 4 to November 1, 2026) are €99.00 for adults, €96.00 for seniors, and €54.00 for children. This facility provides a valuable resource for understanding the local heritage, combining historical exhibits with practical information for regional travel.
