Felsentherme Bad Gastein, located directly at the train station, is a historic thermal spa established in 1968. As Austria’s first public thermal bath, it is built into a natural rock face, creating a unique atmosphere where the interior Ruhetherme features exposed natural stone walls. The facility utilizes water from 18 local springs, delivering approximately one million liters of radon-rich thermal water daily, which is heated to 42°C.

Visitors can explore various amenities, including a large outdoor pool and a wellness area restricted to guests aged 16 and older. The Erlebnistherme zone is designed for families, featuring a 70-meter water slide, a flowing canal, and a rocky grotto. The thermal pool itself maintains a temperature of 34°C, providing a warm environment for relaxation.

The spa is easily accessible, with the entrance located directly opposite the Bad Gastein train station, making it convenient for travelers arriving by the Tauern Railway. Admission requires a swimsuit, and tickets can be purchased online or on-site. Special offers, such as discounts for senior citizens or family packages, are often available, though specific terms may vary by season. The combination of natural rock formations and therapeutic thermal waters makes Felsentherme a central destination for relaxation and wellness in the Alpine region.
