Kastell Stegersbach, often referred to as Stegersbach Castle, is a Renaissance-style structure located at Sparkassenplatz 2 in Stegersbach, Austria. Originally built as a fortification for the Counts of Güssing, the current building was constructed in 1636 by Adam Graf Batthyány on the site of a previous, dilapidated castle. The structure has a rich history, having been owned by the Szenteleky family until the 16th century and later by the Batthyanys.

In 1919, the municipality purchased the castle to house a secondary school. From the 1970s, it served as a home for a telegraph and landscape museum. Following a renovation in September 2013, the building was repurposed and now operates as a guesthouse and event venue. It features a 600-square-meter banquet area and an impressive vaulted cellar, which adds to its historical charm.

For visitors, the castle offers a glimpse into the region’s architectural heritage and its evolution from a military fortification to a community and hospitality center. The vaulted cellar and banquet hall are notable features that highlight the building’s capacity to host significant events. Travelers interested in the history of Stegersbach and Renaissance architecture in the Burgenland region will find Kastell Stegersbach to be a significant landmark. It is recommended to check with local tourism resources for current event schedules or booking information for guesthouse accommodations.
