Stift Zwettl is a largely preserved medieval monastery complex in Zwettl, Austria, open to the public from March 28 to October 31, 2026. Visitors can explore the site through individual audio tours or guided tours led by cultural mediators. Audio tours are available daily from 9:30 to 16:00, with extended hours until 17:00 from May to September. Last entry is 45 minutes before closing. Guided tours depart daily at 11:00, 14:00, and 15:00, with additional weekend slots during the summer. Options include tours of the Cloister & Dormitory, the Church & Treasury, the Library, and the Monastery Gardens.
The monastery gardens are open free of charge and feature a small playground and quiz board for children. A café in the Orangery operates daily, and the StiftsTaverne is open Wednesday through Sunday. The site is partially barrier-free, though dogs are welcome only in the courtyards and gardens, not on guided tours. Group visits, including those with fewer than ten people at package prices, are available year-round with prior registration.
